School Safety

Student and staff safety is a top priority in SRVUSD. Each school site has a plan with specified roles and responsibilities for handling various types of emergencies. The district has the CareLine - a reporting system available on each school website. Reports can be made by any member of the school community to report incidents related to bullying, threats, reports of hate and discrimination, or other situations that may pose a danger or bring harm to members of our school community.

Air Quality and Heat Advisory Guidance

SRVUSD prioritizes the safety of all students and staff. During periods of poor air quality and/or excessive heat, the district relies on and follows guidance from county and state partners to align decision making regarding air quality and heat advisories with what our partners in education use to make their decisions.

The district uses AirNow.gov to measure air quality. Decisions about Air Quality levels and school activities in SRVUSD are normalized on an Air Quality Guidelines Chart that is provided to every school site. Learn more on the Air Quality Information webpage.

When there is excessive heat on a school day, school administrators follow guidance for when outdoor activity should be minimized based on the heat index. All guidance, tips and other resources are available on the Heat Advisory Guidance webpage.

511 Contra Costa

511 Contra Costa is a county-wide program that strives to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality by providing the public with information, resources, and tools that promote mobility options beyond driving alone.
